Maastricht Hotels: A Home Away From Home

Maastricht is the oldest city in the southern part of the Netherlands which attracts numerous visitors from all over the world each year. Part of its attractions include its beautifully designed ancient churches and squares where good restaurants and cafes abound. Located between the borders of Belgium and Germany, Maastricht has perhaps the most number of bars per square kilometer.
To be able to explore the interesting sections of Maastricht, visitors need to stay for several days. Looking for a nice place to stay in this city is not much of a problem because of the existence of some 80 great hotels that have affordable rates.
Hotel d’Orangerie has a wonderful view of the Maas river. This tourist establishment is near the marketplace and is only 10 minutes away from the central station. Hotel d’Orangerie is housed in a series of ancient structures dating back in 1752 with all the rooms featuring an English style of design. Today, though, the hotel is already modern after renovation works were done in 2006. Guests can choose from their 2-night Cultuur Package, Plain and Square Package, Relax Package and Valentine Package.
Another hotel close to the river Maas is the Crowne Plaza Mastricht. Being situated on the banks of the river, visitors can have a beautiful view of the Limburg’s green surroundings. Crowne Plaza’s standard rooms have all been renovated in 2006 to provide guests with a more modern ambience. The hotel’s De Mangerie restaurant is also popular and has earned a rating of 2 forks and knives in the Michelin restaurant guide.
Visitors wanting to stay very near the city can choose the Hotel Van der Valk which is only five minutes away from the city centre.
It is an ideal place to explore Maastricht and the southern part of Limburg because of its close proximity to the A2 highway making it only three minutes or even walking distance to the MECC convention centre. From the Aachen airport, Hotel Van der Valk can be reached by only 20 minutes.
The hotel located right at the Aachen airport is Mercure Maastricht. Just adjacent to the A2/E25 motorway, the Mercure is only 10 minutes away from the city centre and the Maastricht Convention Centre (MECC). This four-star hotel has 62 rooms that offer great comfort. Food lovers can definitely enjoy a memorable dining experience here at The Concorde, Brassiere, Grand Café and Avion Bar.
Situated within the center of Maastricht lies a friendly hotel by that goes by the name of NH Hotel Masstricht, a member of NH Hoteles chain. This four-star tourist establishment has 275 rooms, 12 suites and four studios with many pavement cafes as one of its main attractions. Staying at NH Hotel has its perks as well. Visitors can enjoy the Last Minute Weekend package and stay at the hotel over night for a special winter rate of only 69 Euro not including breakfast and city tax. For those visiting during the winter season, the hotel also has a Winter Promotion which usually lasts for two nights. Interested guests may need to book early to avail of this offer.
